Stiefel Mag Plus Liquid

Stiefel Mag Plus Liquid is a liquid diet feed to reduce stress reactions. The effective combination of magnesium, tryptophan and zinc can have a positive effect on irritable, nervous and stressed horses in case of feed-related deficiency symptoms. This can have a positive influence on resilience, concentration and willingness to perform.

When the horse is stressed, all performance reserves are activated in order to be able to run away from or fight against dangers. This causes the muscles to tense up, including the heart muscle. Magnesium plays a special role for the heart muscle because as a counterpart of calcium it can normalise heart activity. Likewise, magnesium is increasingly secreted when stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline are released. During stress, therefore, more magnesium is needed for many processes – a magnesium deficiency, in turn, can intensify the effects of stress. In addition, vitamin B12 can have a strengthening effect on the nerves and promote concentration. L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid. The effect of L-tryptophan is based on the fact that it is converted into serotonin in the metabolism. It is one of the few amino acids that can easily cross the blood-brain barrier. The effect is described as mood-lifting and calming. An undersupply of L-tryptophan leads to overstimulation, imbalance and a lack of readiness to conduct, especially in stressful situations.

Feeding advice:
Large horses (600kg bodyweight) 25ml – 50ml /daily.
Small horses 10ml – 30ml /daily.
Recommended feeding period: 2 to 4 weeks.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use up quickly after opening. Keep away from small children.
