Stiefel Biotin Plus Pellet

Stiefel Biotin Plus Pellet compensates for feed-related biotin deficiencies. These can have a negative effect on hoof and horn growth. Elasticity and resistance can be impaired. In addition, the coat quality can be affected.

Stiefel Biotin Plus contains the 3-fold formula: Biotin, Methionine and Zinc. It is suitable for horn growth, but also for strengthening the coat and skin. Biotin (vitamin H) plays an important role in fat and sugar metabolism. Biotin has a positive effect on skin, coat and horn. Deficiency symptoms can lead to flaky coat, skin disorders and poor horn quality with a lack of elasticity.

In a healthy horse, biotin is synthesised by microorganisms in the intestinal flora. A deficiency occurs when the synthesis capacity in the intestinal flora is no longer guaranteed. The administration of worming treatments, for example, can disrupt the intestinal flora and hinder such synthesis processes. Methionine is a sulphur-containing amino acid that is very important for the formation of connective tissue. From the added methionine, the organism can form cysteine, which serves as a building block for keratin. Keratin in turn strengthens the horn. Zinc plays an important role in the formation and regeneration of skin, hair and horn cells.

Feeding should be done over a longer period of time (at least 9 months), as biotin can only become noticeable when new horn cells grow. NOTE: On average, the hoof grows 1cm per month.

Feeding advice:
Horses (600 kg bodyweight): 10g daily.
Small horses: 5g daily
1 Measuring spoon = approx. 10.

Due to the higher content of feed additives compared to complete feeds, this feed may only be fed up to 100g daily. Store feed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use up quickly after opening. Store away from small children.
