Former views of feeding robust horse breeds only hay and grass have changed. Pastures and meadows no longer contain the nutrients that they used to, due to over-planting and less natural plant diversity. As a result, pastures and meadows provide plenty of calories and energy, but do not have the vitamins and minerals that horses need. A matte, dull coat, a long-lasting change of coat, itching, mallenders, brittle hooves or a drop in performance can all be consequences of nutritional deficiencies.
Light feeding horse breeds need a filling and low-energy feed with a balanced mix of nutrients. The oat-free Isländer Robust Muesli is made from broken-down cereal flakes optimised with raw fibre cobs and alfalfa chaff, which are efficient and easy to digest sources of energy. These ingredients also promote chewing and have a filling effect. A specially tailored nutrient profile of vitamins, minerals and trace elements covers your horses# daily needs even with a small amount of feed. The mix is rounded off with tasty garlic granules and natural herbs.
