The original EF Horse Muesli is entirely free from oats, but with a cereal content of over 70%. The cereals, such as maize, barley and wheat flakes, are chosen because the starch they contain can be digested quickly and completely in the small intestine. This is why the recipe – which also includes alfalfa, wheat bran and molasses – is also ideal for horses with sensitive digestive systems. Brewer’s yeast, which is rich in B vitamins, supports the flora of the large intestine. Molasses ensure that the muesli is both delicious and dust-free.
Feeding recommendation:
| Situation | Amount per 100 kg bodyweight and day |
| Light work | 200 g muesli |
| Medium work | 400 g muesli |
| Heavy work | 700 g muesli |
The daily hay ration should be between 1-1.5 kg.
