Intestinal tract disorders often occur in horses that are fed a grain-rich or low-fibre feed. Older horses, competition horses or (chronically) sick horses often suffer from stomach ulcers or stomach wall injuries. Trotting or gallop racing horses are particularly susceptible! This problem can also occur among sport horses or leisure horses. Regular damage to the intestinal wall or an imbalance in the intestinal flora can become a real problem.
Hartog’s Digest is especially suitable for sport horses, horses that are sensitive to stress or horses with bowel problems. This roughage mix can support the horse’s stomach and intestinal health.
For nutrients to be better absorbed, the roughage mix has been supplemented with the special POWERSTART mixture. This mixture contains natural micro elements, acid buffers, prebiotics and yeast cultures.
Since the alfalfa contained in the mix has a slightly bitter taste, liquorice and fragrances were added to increase the palatability. Fruits and vegetables also provide great flavour and nutrients.
Grain, molasses and other high-energy sweeteners were not included in this mix.
